RITOFILT-VVMF is an innovative filter designed to remove suspended solids from wastewater in a variety of applications in a cost-effective manner. With high filtration rates and unique compressible porous filter media, it is a versatile and compact solution with lower footprint as compared to conventional filters. The filters are made in a modular manner so as to suitable for all applications and flow rates.
RITOFILT-VVMF has a movable compression plate to vary the porosity of filter bed and therefore, size of suspended solids trapped in the media. It is an up flow filter and by nature of design, there is a continual variable porosity at any given position of the compression plate that enables filtration of varying sizes of solids resulting in full use of filter bed depth and an increase in efficiency. Due to these aspects, it is possible to achieve filtration rates as high as 100m3/m2/hr with the RITOFILT-VVMF.
The filter media consists of a multitude of porous low-density spherical balls made of synthetic fibers. The following properties make the media suitable for a variety of applications

Backwashing in the ORAFILT-VVMF is a simple and automated process, and does not involve losses of filter media. Upon saturation of filter bed, the media is decompressed and a combination of influent water and compressed air is used to clean and tumble the filter balls to prolong media life and ensure uniform usage and wear. Upon completion of backwash cycle, the media is compressed again and filter cycle can begin.
